Kitchen Encounter

I had a miracle happening to me this morning when I stepped into my kitchen filled with dirty dishes.  The Lord gave me a change of perspective. He said playfully, when I started to feel annoyed over the mess, like I usually do: What if you see these dishes as my goodness – never ending. It just keeps coming, more and more. Every cup, every bowl, every spoon and fork is a gift. I have so many gifts for you. I am so rich. My cabinets are full. My heavenly resources for you are not limited. I have what it takes for you to feed the hungry. The spiritually starving. I have sharp knives. I have the best seasoned cast iron pans. And a fully equipped chef’s kitchen. This little kitchen of yours is just a faint shadow of the Heavenly realm. Remember who you are. And remember who I am. Right here, right now, in your tiny little outdated ’70s vibe kitchen. Enter into my presence through thanksgiving. This might look like a messy, dirty kitchen, in need of a major renovation and clean up. But it’s a sanctuary. Just like you.
